When I was a kid, the first huge series I remember devouring was the Boxcar Children when I was about 8 years old. I LOVED having hundreds of books in the series because it felt never ending. At age 12, Phyllis Reynolds Naylor introduced me to teenage life, love, and heartbreak through Alice's eyes. When I was 14 I breathed a sigh of relief when the self-checkout was installed in my library and I didn't have to look grown adults in the eyes anymore when checking out pirate and cowboy paperback romances. I read on the school bus, in between classes in the hallways, at the lunch table, and under the covers with a flashlight at night, constantly immersing myself in fictional worlds created by Asimov, Rowling, Goodkind, and so many others.

When I entered college, my habit of daily reading gradually faded away. I slowly grew out of the fantasy worlds as I grew into a life of my own by living with my best friends, dancing in sweaty dark basements, and sneaking into bars. I had my first boyfriend and first heartbreak, just like Alice did all those years ago. But a gnawing guilty feeling has recently growing in my gut caused by replacing my reading habit with a YouTube and Netflix addiction. As I enter my 30s now, I have officially decided to reclaim my identify as "A Reader". These days, instead of going to a library I get the majority books through Kindle Unlimited. Unfortunately, KU is very hit or miss in terms of quality because TERRIBLE books get over 4 stars all the time. That makes it hard to sort the good stuff from the garbage. I plan for this blog to be the resource that I would want for myself: a straight to the point lists of amazing books. Whether you are looking to get lost in an epic high-fantasy adventure, a sweet YA drama, or a romance book that will make you blush, I've got it all.

If I haven't reviewed your favorite book yet and you want me to add it to my blog, send me a message below! Also consider subscribing to be the first to know when a new blog post has been published to satisfy your own insatiable craving for a good book :)

Cheers and Happy Reading! -UBR

Allow me to suggest Lovecraft...with Laughs! The 𝐂𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐥𝐡𝐮, 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 Memoir series plays fast and loose with Lovecraft, including bonus laughs along with the expected chills. Your soul cheerfully returned if you're not amused.  Here's the first book (of four).
